I should first apologize to Mindy, who'd rather I just post photos of her girls, but I can't resist! She's a gorgeous example of a hip mom doing it all with style. Can you blame me?
Let me back up. I met Mindy last year when I photographed her newborn twin girls Ava and Beatrice. It was just about the time she was starting her aromatherapy business, Sweet & Woodsy Aromatherapy, and getting her house ready to go on the market. Clearly this was a busy woman, but you'd never know it. Not a drop of sweat on her brow or tension in her face. How does she do it?
Well, maybe (and this is just my idea...) there's something in the air. I don't know what essential oils she has diffusing throughout her house, but it's working!
Since then, Mindy has turned me into a natural cleaning maniac - I love it. If you know me, you know that cleaning does not (and never will) rank high on my fun-factor list, but there's something about cleaning a bathroom with lemon, lavender and tea tree oil that makes it so much more enjoyable. The chemicals have moved out of the cabinets (just to the basement...for now), and have been replaced with colorful spray bottles and jars of homemade cleaners.
As a fan and friend, I was excited to hear that Mindy was asked to be a contributor to the website Hip Moms Go Green. In need of a headshot for the bio page, I visited the new house and (almost) one year old A & B. It didn't take long to get a great picture of Mindy, so I was lucky enough to steal a few minutes with the twins - adorable!
Mindy's first article for Hip Moms is hot off the electronic press - check it out here. I also recommend you become a fan of Sweet & Woodsy on Facebook. She routinely links to great natural products, articles about living a chemical free life, and even shares recipes for homemade cleaners, lotions and potions.
